Our client is a manufacturer in Southeast Asia specializing in wire mesh products. As the entire equipment required repair and the replacement of cast components, the client approached MATECH to discuss this need.
At the initial inquiry stage, the client had only original samples, no detailed drawings, and he expected MATECH to deliver a complete technical manufacturing solution along with recommendations on suitable wear-resistant materials. Before sending the samples, in order to help the client assess the project budget, MATECH first asked the client to provide photos and videos of the samples, measure the approximate overall dimensions and product weight, and specify the required quantity. Based on this information, MATECH's technical team carried out an evaluation and provided the client with an estimated quotation, together with advice on appropriate materials and manufacturing solutions.
Once the samples were received, MATECH's engineers conducted detailed measurement and, arranged 3D scanning, and held multiple rounds of in-depth discussions with the client. Through this process, the product's technical requirements, manufacturing solution, and a competitive quotation were finally confirmed, and the client subsequently started a business relationship with MATECH.
With MATECH's professional technical expertise and strict quality control, the delivered products have been highly recognized by the client. The two parties continue to maintain a close and strong cooperative relationship to this day.
This component plays a critical role in the client's wire mesh production equipment. To allow the rebar to slide smoothly and consistently over it in the long term, the part requires excellent wear resistance and high hardness achieved by appropriate heat treatment. The material 42CrMo recommended by MATECH, together with the matching technical solution, effectively met the client's operational requirements. Following the successful testing and validation of the samples, the mass production order was successfully launched and delivered as scheduled!
Based on the product's function and application, the client requested MATECH to recommend a suitable material, as he was unsure which material would be appropriate. At the same time, he emphasized that the product needed to be highly wear-resistant. Leveraging its manufacturing experience and technical expertise, MATECH proposed the material 42CrMo in combination with heat treatment, so as to achieve the desired hardness and wear resistance.
As the samples sent by the client showed multiple worn areas, some dimensions were no longer accurate. To ensure the dimensional accuracy of the part and proper fit in assembly use, after completing the measurement and 3D scanning, MATECH engaged in effective communication with the client and obtained written confirmation regarding the dimensions that were in question on the drawings. The production drawings were ultimately finalized and approved, and were then used for formal production of the tooling and parts.
Based on the groove dimensions provided by the client, MATECH's team carried out an evaluation and found that the groove bottom was too thin (only 3 mm), which could compromise the part's strength and shorten its service life. The design was therefore optimized by increasing the thickness at the bottom. In addition, MATECH recommended changing the tapered groove to a straight one, so that the rebar could pass through smoothly. Through these effective design optimizations, the overall performance of the product in service was significantly improved.
This steel casting part plays a critical role in the client's wire mesh production equipment, which has demanding requirements in terms of wear resistance, strength, and dimensional consistency. Quality control and inspection must cover the entire process from raw material control, casting production, to finishing machining and heat treatment, and ensure both dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties, as these directly determine the final performance of the casting part in service.
Therefore, MATECH strictly implements the following measures:
This strict quality control system ensures that every batch of steel castings meets the client's assembly and use requirements, while helping the client's equipment achieve an extended service life and reducing the cost of subsequent maintenance.
Finally, this cast steel component exceeded the client’s expectations:
These achievements have revitalized the client's equipment with stable and reliable operation. They have reduced the frequency and cost of equipment maintenance, while improving the delivery efficiency of the wire mesh products. They have also created a positive and lasting impact on the client's business development.
Even when the client was initially uncertain about the material selection and lacked complete product drawings, with its professional technical expertise, one-stop process advantages, strict quality control, and responsive service communication, MATECH was able to provide a reliable and well-suited solution. This project demonstrates MATECH's capabilities in the following aspects:
The parts for wire mesh production equipment must not only meet dimensional accuracy requirements, but also deliver high wear resistance and hardness, along with consistent quality across mass production. Through its one-stop service covering casting, CNC machining, and heat treatment, MATECH focuses on providing customers with qualified, precision-engineered metal parts. In addition, by optimizing the design, MATECH has improved the product's in-service performance and increased the client's production efficiency.
