Special Industrial Chains

Special Industrial chains are optimally designed for special working conditions in specific fields, covering grain and oil processing, wood conveying, sugar manufacturing, palm oil production, automobile manufacturing, papermaking and other industries. MATECH provides these specialized chains and offers full-link customized services from material selection and special structural design to surface protection treatment, ensuring reliable operation in humid, corrosive, high-temperature or hygiene-sensitive environments.

We support customizied pitch, chain plate thickness, attachments, heat treatment and surface treatment according to drawings or samples, enabling your equipment to maintain high efficiency and reliability even in the most challenging working environments.

Product Series
Grain & Oil Conveyor Chains
Designed for Grain storage and Oil pressing conveying lines. Adopting a dust-proof and sealed structure, these Chains are Available in stainless steel material,Featuring corrosion resistance and easy cleaning.
Lumber Conveyor Chains
Engineered to withstand LARGE-scale irregular impact and fiber winding from logs and sawn timber. Featuring thickened chain plates and sharp-tooth gripping design with hardened tooth surfaces for reliable Lumber conveying.
Sugar Mill Chains
The environments of sugarcane juicing and beet Sugar production contain abundant organic acids and syrup, which cause severe electrochemical corrosion to ordinary carbon steel. We adopt martensitic stainless steel or nickel-plated alloy steel to resist Sugar juice corrosion. Pins and sleeves are hardened to achieve outstanding wear resistance and extended service life.
Palm Oil Chains
Resistant to high-temperature steam and fatty acid corrosion. Available in full stainless steel or nickel-plated reinforced versions, suitable for palm fruit bunch conveying and oil pressing production lines.
Automotive Conveyor Chains
Applied in core production lines such as final assembly, painting and welding. Including overhead chains and hollow pin chains, they operate stably and allow the installation of lifting fixtures, perfectly adapting to automotive painting and assembly working environments.
Paper Mill Chains
Installed in the drying section, wet section and conveying section of paper machines. Featuring excellent resistance to moisture and chemical corrosion, the chain plates can be made of stainless steel or coated with protective layers. The outer edges of chain plates are rounded and polished to reduce the adhesion of wet pulp.

Working Principle of Industry-Specific Chains

Specialized industry chains are driven by sprockets and fitted with attachments such as scrapers, hooks, teeth, and push rods to enable conveying, suspending, gripping, and positioning of materials. Materials and surface treatments are precisely tailored to different media and operating temperatures—including grain, oils, wood, sugar juice, palm oil, and wet pulp—to minimize corrosion and wear.

Application Industry

Grain storage and edible oil processing lines

Wood processing and engineered panel production lines

Sugar industry (cane and beet)

Palm oil plantations and pressing mills

Automotive and component manufacturing lines

Pulp and paper processing lines

Customization Process

Matech not only supplies standard industry-specific chains, but also specializes in customizing chains based on your operating conditions. From material selection and heat treatment to attachment types—such as sharp teeth, scrapers, and hooks—every product can be manufactured according to drawings or samples.

Frequently Asked Questions
1
What special design features are required for grain conveying chains?
Dust-proof sealing rings prevent fine particles from entering hinge joints. Stainless steel options are available to resist corrosion from grain acids. Additionally, chain plate edges are smoothly rounded to minimize material buildup.
2
How can the sharpness of teeth on wood conveying chains be maintained?
The teeth are made of alloy steel and undergo through hardening or surface hardfacing to form a wear-resistant layer with a hardness of HRC 55–60. During routine inspections, worn teeth can be refurbished through tungsten carbide hardfacing and tooth profile regrinding, significantly extending service life and reducing replacement costs.
3
Why are sugar mill chains prone to rust?
Organic acids in sugarcane juice rapidly corrode standard carbon steel. We recommend using 420 martensitic stainless steel or 304 stainless steel with passivation, ensuring both high strength and excellent resistance to acid corrosion.
4
How is the high-temperature performance of palm oil chains?
Our palm oil chains are designed to withstand temperatures up to 120°C in steam and hot palm oil environments. Materials such as 316 stainless steel or nickel-plated alloy steel are used, with pins and bushings subjected to high-temperature tempering to ensure durability and stability.
5
Are there noise requirements for chains used in automotive production lines?
Yes. We offer low-noise roller chains or chains with engineered plastic attachments. In addition, optimized sprocket tooth profiles help reduce meshing impact and minimize noise.
6
How do paper industry chains handle moisture and corrosion?
Options include 304 stainless steel chains or carbon steel chains with Dacromet coating and sealing, providing salt spray resistance of over 500 hours. Rounded and polished chain plate edges, along with large-clearance hinge designs, help reduce pulp buildup.
7
Can these chains be customized with non-standard attachments?
Absolutely. Custom attachments can be supplied, such as tailored hooks mounted on hollow pins or custom push plates welded to chain plates. Drawings, prototype samples, and load specifications are required for customization.
8
Can you supply matching sprockets?
Yes. We manufacture sprockets precisely matched to our industry-specific chains. Available materials include carbon steel or stainless steel, with optional tooth surface hardening for extended wear life.
9
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
For customized products, a minimum order quantity of 100 meters is typically recommended. We can negotiate sample orders on a case-by-case basis, and also offer rapid prototyping for small-batch or single-piece requirements.
10
What is the typical lead time?
Sample production typically takes 7–25 days, while mass production requires 20–45 days. Lead times may be extended for large-volume orders or special materials. For urgent downtime or repair projects, we prioritize scheduling to shorten lead times and minimize production losses.
