Double Plus Chain

Designed specifically for automated production lines, the double-speed rollers utilize the differential speed principle of large and small rollers, allowing the tooling plate to travel at speeds far exceeding those of the chain itself, commonly reaching 2x or 3x speed. They enable efficient storage and warehousing, and allow for lazy positioning of workstations, ensuring smooth, low-speed operation and precise positioning. With a simple and easy-to-maintain structure, they are available in various layouts, including circular and high-profile designs, and are widely used in electronics, new energy, and auto parts industries.

Frequently Asked Questions
1
What is the core difference between double plus chains and ordinary conveyor chains in terms of speed increase principle?
The core of a double plus chain lies in the special speed ratio design between the inner/outer plates and the rollers. While rollers and sprockets move almost synchronously on ordinary chains, double plus chains use large-diameter stepped rollers. When the sprocket drives the chain, the rollers roll relative to the guide rail, enabling the workpiece pallet placed on the chain to move at a speed 2.5 times faster than the chain itself. This design achieves rapid accumulation and high-speed transfer between workstations while reducing wear on the chain itself.
2
How do double plus chains prevent jamming and creeping during accumulation conveying?
Accumulation (workpiece stopped while the chain continues running) is a typical operating condition for double plus chains. Our double plus chains feature precision-matched roller and bushing clearances, along with self-lubricating bushings or pre-filled grease inside the roller bore, ensuring low-friction rolling between the roller and bushing during accumulation to avoid “creeping” caused by unstable friction. In addition, the plate surfaces are smoothly finished to reduce viscous resistance against the pallet bottom, ensuring smooth accumulation and easy restart.
3
How do double plus chains ensure wear resistance under high-speed and frequent start-stop conditions?
Double plus chains are often used in assembly lines and packaging lines with frequent starts and stops. Our double plus chains use precision-stamped alloy steel plates, with pins and bushings treated by carbonitriding heat treatment, achieving a surface hardness of over HV 700 while maintaining core toughness. We also offer carburized rollers and through-hardened pins, extending wear life to more than 1.5 times that of standard double plus chains. For extreme high-frequency applications, oil-immersed chains or forced lubrication systems are also available.
4
Can double plus chains operate in humid, dusty, or corrosive environments?
Yes. We offer multiple solutions based on the application environment:
Humid or washdown environments: 304/316 stainless steel, or nickel-plated/Dacromet-coated carbon steel.
Dusty environments: Sealed roller design to reduce dust ingress into the bushing-pin gap.
Corrosive media: All-stainless steel double plus chains or food-grade solid lubrication options. All corrosion-resistant double plus chains are validated by salt spray tests before shipment, ensuring reliable operation in harsh conditions.
5
Can double plus chains directly replace standard double plus chains on existing conveyor lines?
Absolutely. Our double plus chains strictly follow industry standard pitches (e.g., 31.75mm, 50.8mm) as well as key dimensions such as plate height and roller outer diameter, making them fully interchangeable with major brands. We also support custom attachment plates (e.g., adding stops, guides, etc.) for quick replacement without modifying the main conveyor structure. If the original line has special speed ratio requirements, we can fine-tune the roller diameter based on actual operating parameters.
